Turned out to be 2.85oz/80g and 975ft/325yards. Have to figure out what's possible to make with the amount--preferably a single item in order to show the gradient

Various views of my take on Ambah O’Brien’s Celestial Shawl. I used two skeins of Blossoms from Wonderland Yarns (Dahlia and Clemantis) and two skeins of tosh DK in onyx.

Finished up my first big project for 2024 last night. I started this back in...2019, I think? It got set aside and then lost in the move and I eventually found it back around Christmas 2023...and promptly set it aside until the holidays were past. I did remember where I put it, however, and so since roughly Jan. 1, I've been working on getting it done. I should add, I was back in the mid-lighter purple section at that time.
Yarn is from Wollelfe and it's their "Curry & Saffron" gradient. Pattern is theirs, called "Trilogy." Just need to give it a good soak and block it and it will be good to go!

Tentative pattern
Start each row with a chainless DC.
MR Row 1: DC 3 Row 2: (3 DC) in first st. DC 2. (3 DC) in last st. Rows 3-6: (3 DC) in first st. DC until end. (3 DC) in last st.
Row 7 (mesh): (DC, ch1, DC) in first st. Ch 1, sk 1. (DC, ch1, sk 1) until last stitch. (DC, ch1, DC) in last st. Rows 8-9 (DCs): (3 DC) in first st. DC until end. (3 DC) in last st.
Continue repeating rows 7-9 until … (row 28? A mesh row. Starting at row 29, I did half-increases.)
Half-Increases:
Row n (DCs): (sk1, DC2tog), DC until end, (3 DC in last st)
Row n+1 (DCs): (3 DC) in first st. DC until near the end. In 3rd-last stitch: DC3tog the last 3 stitches. {Alternatively: sk the 3rd last st, and DC2tog the last 2 stitches. I think this might look better.}
Row n+2 (mesh): (DC, ch, DC) in first st. Ch 1, sk 1. (DC, ch1, sk1) until near the end. In the 4th last stitch: (DC, ch1, sk2), and DC in the last st.
Row n+3 (DCs): (sk1, DC2tog), DC until end, (3 DC in last st)
Row n+4 (DCs): (3 DC) in first st. DC until near the end. In 3rd-last stitch: DC3tog the last 3 stitches. {Alternatively: sk the 3rd last st, and DC2tog the last 2 stitches. I think this might look better.}
Row n+5: (mesh): (DC, ch1, sk2). Starting in the 3rd st: (DC, ch1, sk1) until the end. In last stitch: (DC, ch1, DC).
Repeat until …
Decreases:
Rows m and m+1 (DCs): (sk1, DC2tog), DC until near the end. In 3rd-last stitch: DC3tog the last 3 stitches.
Row m+2 (mesh): (DC, ch1, sk2). Starting in the 3rd st: (DC, ch1, sk1) until near the end. In the 4th last stitch: (DC, ch1, sk2), and DC in the last st.
The last 6 rows should be treated as "Row m". The very last row should be just one DC3tog.

Improvising a pattern for a rectangular shawl. I hope the stitch math works out!
Alternating two rows of DC with one row of DC mesh. I think I've figured out how to work the decreases to get a nice right angle, but only time (progress) will tell.
This is a beautiful mercerised cotton laceweight yarn where one by one, the plies are joined to darker and darker colours to create a long gradient. It's like crocheting with a kilometer and a half of embroidery floss! The final colour is so dark it's nearly black, but in just the right light, you can see the glinting green shine. I love it!

Made for my goth niece! Pattern: Virus shawl. Made from an OOAK cake from my stash (from Etsy). She picked the pattern and yarn. It is massive, iirc the cake is 1000m. I'll probably never do a virus shawl again mainly bc my brain is frizzled and I am so bad at counting/repetition lol. The one on the starry background is closest to IRL

Did some final yarn shopping for the rainbow pom pom jacket project today. Mainly for missing links between colors. Sometimes you find that one perfect color... but sometimes you need two or even three shades to bridge the gap.
Obviously I can never make thing easy for myself lol. Not satisfied with the six shades of the flag, nooo, gotta have that perfect gradient. Should count how many shades I have. It's at least 30 lol.
